FAQs

Foodzee is a mobile app designed to make mealtime fun and stress-free for families. Through interactive games like the Spinner, Dice, and Pop-It, kids are encouraged to try new foods, take bites, and build healthier eating habits in a playful way.

Foodzee is designed to help parents make mealtime more fun while eating a balanced meal. It was started to encourage a picky eater to take bites of familiar foods and to try new foods slowly, but it grew to be fun for all members of the family (including grandparents). It’s beneficial for families who want to turn any meal into a more positive, engaging experience with non-dessert-based rewards that thrive through uplifting connection time.

Feeding therapists, childcare centers, and early childhood educators use Foodzee to complement nutrition programs and support healthy eating habits. It’s also effective in Pre-K and early elementary classrooms, where mealtime becomes an opportunity for learning, growth, and joy.

No. Foodzee is not intended as medical advice or a replacement for an evaluation and observation to understand the wide range of conditions under the umbrella of a feeding disorder, like Picky Eating, PFD, SED, or eating disorders like ARFID. Foodzee can help parents and caregivers support various clinicians’ goals outside of a session.

Our app features multiple games that integrate with various philosophies, including Intuitive Eating, Division of Responsibility, Responsive Feeding, SOS, AEIOU, and more. Always consult your pediatrician or qualified therapist for medical guidance and extreme behaviors that might indicate allergies or physical concerns.

Each game (spinner, dice, pop-it) is designed to reward kids for taking bites of food or sips of their drink. Depending on the Game, each one leans towards a slightly more specific outcome, with all helping towards an acceptance of food that mirrors the food groups, albeit sometimes deconstructed, of the parents’ plate.

The spinner helps focus on new foods for helping with exposure from the random size of a bite, along with a food group. The dice empowers the child/player to select from the food groups when a choice is offered to them. The Pop-it leans more towards a balance plate by representing each of the food groups. Foodzee’s graphics relate the food group to a health benefit/outcome, as kids mostly follow the instructions while their progress is tracked towards an agreed-upon age-appropriate incentive. Yes. Foodzee allows you to adjust food categories (like vegetarian, gluten-free, or allergy-safe options) so your child never sees foods that don’t fit your family’s dietary needs.

Foodzee’s Hunger Meter fills up as kids play and eat. Suppose Foodzee doesn’t join you at mealtime, or meals are stretched out over a more extended period. In that case, the meter slowly decreases, indicating that Foodzee is becoming hungrier when you open the app. If mealtime is skipped, the meter slowly decreases, indicating that Foodzee is becoming hungrier.

Foodzee offers a limited free trial. Continued access to all features and games is available with a subscription, giving your family unlimited fun and motivation at mealtime.

Parents guide the food options; if the child still needs help, then parents help with portion sizes. Kids can play the games for their turns with parental oversight, while also joining in the fun!

Yes. Foodzee keeps track of how often your child plays and how much they eat during games, so you can see improvements over time and celebrate milestones.
